Meet The Amadeus Chorale Directors



Darla Bair

Founder and Artistic Director

Darla Bair is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Amadeus Chorale. As their Artistic Director, she conducts four of the Amadeus choirs. Miss Bair maintains an active career as a writer, composer and producer of seasonal musicals for civic organizations and churches to use as fundraisers as well as of children’s musicals that coordinate with New York State curricula. Miss Bair has taught Voice and Piano for thirty-four years. She studied Voice with Nancy Kennedy through the Eastman School of Music and holds degrees in Music, Education, and Interdisciplinary Arts. Miss Bair has been the Guest Conductor for many All-county Chorus Festivals and is listed in the National Registry of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals as well as in the 2002 and 2004 editions of Who’s Who in America’s Teachers.

 

In 2009, she published Singing Families, an activity and enrichment book for Music teachers and home schooling organizations. She was honored with the Golden Apple Teacher Award from Rochester’s Channel 8 TV in Spring, 2010. Miss Bair most recently taught Theory, Advanced Placement Theory and Chorus at the High School level. Miss Bair recently received the Golden Apple Teacher award from Rochester’s Channel 8. She currently teaches Theory, Advanced Placement Theory and Chorus at Brockport High School and owns the Gingerbread Manor Bed and Breakfast in Brockport, New York.

Sally Martin

Sally Martin holds degrees in Piano and Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College. Sally teaches Music in the Holley School District and is the Music Director for the Brockport United Methodist Church, where she plays organ, and conducts the vocal and handchime choirs. Mrs. Martin’s lyrics were featured in the Amadeus-commissioned piece “We Sing for the Children”, written by Mary Lynn Lightfoot and published by Heritage Press.
