Four Choirs for Personalized Music Instruction
The Grace Notes (Ages 3-6) Our youngest singers meet on Saturday mornings for themed sessions that connect movement, playing instruments, singing, and storytelling - all disguised as fun! Join us as we play our ukeleles, scrape our guiros, wear our costumes, dance freely, and most of all - sing!
The Concert Choir (Ages 7-12) This group is where some of our best mentoring occurs. Our more experienced singers love being role models for their younger peers! Concert Choir provides opportunities to sing different types of music and to develop that all-important stage presence. The Concert Choir experience enhances our singers' confidence levels, and builds teamwork among members.
WolfGang (Guys Only) Their repertoire ranges from classical to barbershop, with almost everything in between. They rehearse most of the time as a separate group, but join the Cantorei Singers for many four-part pieces throughout the season.
The Cantorei Singers (High School Women) Their repertoire includes pop, classical, gospel, ballads, folksongs, and standard women's choral literature. Singers may join at this level if they have had significant experience singing elsewhere. Most of the Cantorei Singers have been in the Amadeus Chorale for more than four years.
The Amadeus Chorale Youth Singers of Rochester, NY can greatly enhance your child's Music Education. The Amadeus experience includes more than just singing: Your son or daughter will build a strong foundation in music performance, along with life-lessons that will help him or her to grow into a confident and responsible adult. Our members range in age from pre-school through age 18, and we have openings for new singers in every choir. We welcome new members from throughout the Greater Rochester Region, and singers from all backgrounds and experience levels are invited to audition. Some of the skills and experiences that our members encounter include singing in foreign languages, learning choreography, discovering the historical significance of our literature, collaborating with other professional musicians, and singing in a variety of venues for a wide range of audiences.
Amadeus is more than just a music classroom! We're an established music and entertainment resource in the community, and are in demand for local church and corporate events. Our singers learn a lot "on the road", but sometimes the tables turn when they become the music educators instead! Our calendar of events often includes a children's choral seminar at a college, or a teaching concert at an elementary school.
We're proud of our singers' musicality, and of their exemplary behavior that allows them to adapt to any singing situation. The singers are taught to be flexible, while at the same time always holding themselves to high musical standards.
